About Me

about image

Hello, I'm Matt

I am a software developer

As a director of a commercial fitout company for the past 12 years, I have developed a wealth of experience in managing complex projects from conception to completion. This role has involved leading a team of professionals, overseeing budgets and timelines, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard. I believe that these skills and experiences will be highly relevant to my new career as a software developer, as both roles require strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage resources effectively. Additionally, my experience in overseeing budgets and timelines will be invaluable as I work on software development projects.

Over the past two decades, while working across various sectors and industries in the construction industry, I have also been intrigued by the world of software development and technology. However, I never had the time to dedicate myself fully to learning the skills required to pursue it as a career. In 2022, I made the decision to leave my directorship in construction and fully immerse myself in the world of software development by enrolling in a comprehensive full-time software development course. Since then, I have been able to dedicate myself to learning new skills and techniques, and the experience has been both challenging and exciting. I am eager to continue my journey and become a skilled and proficient software developer, while applying the lessons I have learned as a director to my new career.
